Hundreds turned up at St Christopher’s Church, Haslemere last night for an evening of music by Vivaldi & Telemann, played beautifully by Ishani Bhoola’s Waverley Ensemble.
The marriage of the Ensemble’s quality and quantity of players and the accoustics of St Christopher’s combined to produce a big, rich sound that was appreciated by all.
Particular highlights were the solo performances by award-winner Alinka Rowe (Telemann Viola Concerto), by Bozidar Vukotic (Vivaldi Cello Concerto) and of course by Ms Bhoola herself, particularly of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (Summer).
The next Waverley Ensemble concert at St Christopher’s is on 26th May but Ms Bhoola is hosting an evening of Baroque Chamber Music there on 14th April. Highly recommended.
