Penny Ha’Penny Trust Helps Out

In the last few weeks, The Haslemere Penny Ha’Penny Trust has been out and about providing some treats for local care home workers in the area.

Trustee Chairman Malcolm Carter said:

“The Trust raises money and makes grants to good causes locally but in this case we’ve been buying treats, mainly fresh fruit and hand cream and taking it round to care homes as a thank you to the staff for the work they’re doing for the most vulnerable in the community. “

Fellow Trustee Simon Dear added:

“These folks are on the front line working under very difficult conditions and deserve a Thank You from us all while they’re in the thick of the problems we’re facing. It’s been lovely sharing the generosity of our donors with them.”

The Trust has given baskets to Chestnut View near Tesco, Moorhouse Nursing Home in Hindhead and Shottermill House Care Home, Sprinkell House and the Minor Injuries Unit.

They’ve also given £1,000 to Haslewey to help with their Community Meals Service (Meals on Wheels), matched by the Haslemere Rugby Club in the photo above.
