We had a call the other day from a resident whose illness has meant they’ve recently had to use a mobility scooter to get around.
The problem was that the route between their house and the shops had become overgrown with brambles & vegetation and the thorns had caused cuts to their arms as they drove along. The cuts looked pretty ugly.
Two Town Councillors responded and spent Saturday, 23rd June, cutting back and carting away the overgrowth, at the footpath just off the petrol station roundabout at Hindhead.
The before and after shots tell the tale but the resident who asked us to do something took the trouble to come out to see us, bringing tea and biscuits on his scooter while we were at work.
Only a little thing but his reaction, and the physical satisfaction of doing the work, reminded us of the pleasure of being Town Councillors sometimes.
