SUPERSEDED BY GOVT REGULATIONS ON SELF-ISOLATING. REMAIN AT HOME.

The author spent this morning, 12th March, visiting retailers in Haslemere to ask about extra Christmas lights the Town Council are hoping to install this year.

Whilst chatting, he heard from some pretty unhappy shopkeepers.

Yes, they’ve all got hand sanitisers, yes, the cafes and restaurants are continually wiping down and cleaning surfaces, yes they’ve got some fabulous things for sale but many report people are just not coming in.

They’re all open are open as usual and they’d love to see you.

All we need is for people to follow the standard Public Health England advice that we’ve heard so often now.

  1.  Wash hands with soap and water.
  2.  Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue if you cough or sneeze.
  3.  Put the tissue in a bin.

Do you owe these people a living – No.

But if you would normally be shopping in Haslemere or Hindhead, or Wey Hill or Beacon Hill, come on down!

Parking is available and you’ll get customer service second to none.
