Local Charity Benefits from Hares

The Haslemere Penny Ha’Penny Trust is a charity set up a few years ago to raise money in the Haslemere area and to make grants to voluntary groups and charities doing good work locally.

Trust chairman and former mayor Malcolm Carter was delighted to accept a cheque for £6,000 from the Haslemere Hares project run by Brian Howard and Melissa King last Thursday 7th March.

The event was held in the showroom at Baron’s BMW in Hindhead.

Groups that have benefitted from HPHT grants include Crossways Counselling, Three Counties Money Advice, HHH Concerts, Waverley Ensemble, Haslewey, Shottermill Infants School, Sport Haslemere, Woolmer Hill School, A Place to Be and many others.

It’s Haslemere Hounds this year, so maybe think about the real good you’re doing locally when you buy a mug or a postcard or sponsor one of the beasts themselves.
