Oddly, the only statutory duty of Haslemere Town Council is to provide allotments.
They’re not dear – priced at 35p per sq.m at the moment – which is probably one reason they’re so popular, as they’re all fully taken at the time of writing.
The sites all have members’ associations, and the companionship of like-minded growers all plays a part in their attraction.
Haslemere has three sites:
At the back of the High Street on Collards Lane.
At Clammer Hill.
Off Sturt Road.
